32 Weeks

Three weeks ago today at 1:30am David and I left our home in MN and drove the 2.5 hours to the airport. We were going to meet our baby. He had chosen to arrive early after 28 weeks and 6 days.

I can't believe that 3 weeks ago we touched down in FL at noon. Then, 3 hours later we met our son... I feel like I don't have the words yet to share Sawyer's story. I've tried. 

2 days after we met him he was legally in our custody and we could spend all the time we wanted with him. Since then we have spent 12-13 hours growing a baby! He's done so well! He's gone from 2 pounds 4 ounces back to birth weight at 2 pounds 9 ounces 2 weeks later. He's now 2 pounds 12 ounces and an inch and a half longer than he was at birth. 

He is right on track and doing exactly what he's supposed to do.

Here he is on December 26- the day he was put in our custody.

This is him at 32 weeks on Wednesday, January 14. He was 3 weeks and 1 day old. 

His tummy is bigger, his harms are softer, and his skin is more mature! He's longer and heavier! So far, we're successfully grown' a baby!
